Early this morning before school started, I went to finish some apple juice we had in the refrigerator. Checking the expiration date to see if it was still good, I was puzzled to see the bottle read "Best by 011111." What?! That's a lot of ones! I finally figured out that it meant "Best by the eleventh day of the first month of the eleventh year." In simpler terms, "Best by January 1, 2011."
You're wise to check. I just had a bowl of oats the yesterday that tasted funny. Calista even told me they smelled horrible but I pressed on and ate the whole bowl. I later went back and checked the box and they had expired in 2007! Yikes!
