(L)During our Crew science class, we performed an experiment about the electromagnetic force involving balloons. This was the first balloon I've ever inflated myself. I think that's just sad.
(R) Mrs. C. should have known that when she gives three kids balloons and tries to teach them a science lesson, they don't listen very well.

After class, Mama treated Ethan and I to an In-N-Out lunch. She sure knows the way to her kids' hearts!

I've just taken a math test and is watching Mama correct it. I pray the results will be positive.

Our neighbor has a dogwood tree, and it's been exciting to watch it creep into bloom day by day. Here's one of it's gorgeous blossoms.
In my family, I'm famous for making tall towers of dishes in the dish rack when it's my turn to wash them. In fact, Mama forbade me from making my pillars too high. I guess one can see from this picture (L) why.

One of my favorite hobbies is baking. Specifically deserts. Knowing this, Mama asked me to make some cookies. My choice: Peanut Butter Blossoms! The whole family approved of these "cuties" (as Mom would say).

During school hours, my schedule allots me sixty minutes to read my math lesson and complete the problems. Usually, I finish the above requirements about ten minutes early. However, today I did the lesson and problems with twenty-five minutes and fourteen seconds to spare! YIPPEE!! That's a new record!

March 3, 2010 - Happy March!

(B) Now you don't.

As a Boy Scout nearing the Eagle rank, Ethan has to complete a service project for his community.
Like many scouts before him, he is building a gravel path around the Cameron Park Observatory with the help of his troop. During lunch break, the boys discovered some unused tires. Immediately, they made a game of rolling them down a hill competing against each other to see how far their tire would go.
Some got a little too enthusiastic. :)

Hail visited us for a minute or two this afternoon. This picture is of our pool getting pounded with the ice.

(A) This is our club house near the time of the hail-coming. I think it is having a bad-roof-tile-day! :)

As Ethan and I came home from our fencing lesson, I noticed that the moon had a huge ring of light around it. My pictures didn't come out but I wish they had. It was an amazing sight; not one I have ever seen before.

February 21 - 23, 2010

On Sunday, we left to Hume Lake Christian Camps to celebrate my brother Seth's 21st birthday! Please plug your ears while I scream from fright. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Okay, I'm done. (B) This is a picture of the mountains as we're heading up to Hume. They were expecting a couple inches of snow that afternoon, and we arrived after it had started falling. That was the first time we ever traveled to Hume Lake in a snowstorm! (It wasn't a 'blizzard' storm, thank God!) Although, LOTR ('The Lord of the Rings') fans have to admit that the picture reminds them of the Misty Mountains. :) (R) I think this is a cute picture: it shows #1, how high the snow is and #2, its message is rather obvious with the amount of snow lying about!

(L) On Monday, Seth and Ethan had a blast playing broom hockey with some of the other Hume Staff. This is Seth during the game. He's in the grey sweatshirt with 'H. L. C. C.' on it.
Afterward, Seth opened his gifts and we went home on Tuesday. We all had a great time!

Early this morning before school started, I went to finish some apple juice we had in the refrigerator. Checking the expiration date to see if it was still good, I was puzzled to see the bottle read "Best by 011111." What?! That's a lot of ones! I finally figured out that it meant "Best by the eleventh day of the first month of the eleventh year." In simpler terms, "Best by January 1, 2011."

Today, our Crew class, Ethan, Isaac (Wyatt's older brother), and a few friends of Mrs. C. went to the California Museum to visit a special exhibit called "A Time of Remembrance." It is where children (they're old, now) who lived in Japanese internment camps during WWII share their memories of that period in their lives. This picture (L) is of our group (except Mama) with our docent, Joann.
While we waited for the class to begin, we wandered around looking at some of the mini exhibits. (R) This is Jenny and I by models of Star Wars' C3PO and R2D2. I didn't know that George Lucas was a Californian! :) (B) Also on display in the same exhibit were Indiana Jones' coat, bullwhip, and fedora from 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.' That's Ethan and my favorite of the series!

(B) Also, Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber! Is that not cool or what! It reminds me of Seth and Ethan's homemade lightsabers.

Over all, the event was great! Except that one time when I almost fainted because I stood too long with my knees locked. That was a first!
